Yoga for Pole Dancers with Mags & Stephanie
This beginner-friendly yoga class is designed to support pole dancers through mobility, flexibility, balance, posture, breath, recovery, and long-term body awareness. Whether you are brand new to yoga or looking to deepen your movement practice, this class is about building a strong foundation for health and wellness that will support you for years to come.
Mags has been practicing yoga for about 15 years and teaching for nearly 10, and believes one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself while you are young is developing a consistent mobility and wellness practice before the body begins to stiffen with age. Pole dancers often focus heavily on strength and tricks, but yoga teaches the nervous system how to breathe, build strength and flexibility, recover, and move with greater awareness and longevity.
This class follows a beginner adaptation of the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series — a traditional flowing sequence of postures connected through breath and movement. In this class, students will work through approximately the first third of the Primary Series in an approachable way that focuses on alignment, consistency, flexibility, and nervous system regulation rather than perfection.
Over time, students often notice improvements in posture, grip endurance, recovery, coordination, core stability, and overall body confidence both on and off the pole.
Mags learned this practice through years of study with her mentor @jodi_blumstein at Yoga Works in Los Angeles, where got her holds a teaching certificate in 2011, and has taught yoga in multiple spaces including her former Puerto Rico studio, @Yoga.Pole, to the US Coast Guard in San Juan Puerto Rico, at the Bay Club in Los Angeles, and now at Main Street Pole in East Aurora, NY.
Stephanie began both pole and yoga only about three months ago, and joins this class as a reminder that everyone starts somewhere. Her journey represents what this class is truly about: showing up, learning your body, and building healthy habits one practice at a time.
