Frequently Asked Questions

We want you to feel comfortable, prepared, and confident before you arrive. Below you’ll find answers to our most frequently asked questions about classes, attire, location, and what to expect. If you don’t see your question listed, feel free to email us at info@mainstreetpole.com or call 716-325-0372—we’re happy to help.

Where do I park?
Parking is easy. You can park in the Main & Hamlin lot, on Main Street, or in the plaza next door. Please follow posted signs and be respectful of nearby businesses.

When should I show up?
Doors open 10 minutes before class. Please arrive on time as doors will lock at 5 minutes after class begins.

Is there a place to change?

Yes. We have a dressing room where you can change before and after class.

What should I wear to Pole Basics?
Wear shorts or fitted bottoms that allow thigh skin for grip, plus a tank top or fitted tee. Comfort is key.

What should I wear to Pole 1.5 Strength & Flow?
Booty shorts or bathing suit bottoms are recommended. Knee pads are encouraged. Heels are optional unless stated otherwise.

What should I wear to Pole 1.5 Heels & Expression?

Booty shorts, bathing suit bottoms, pole dance outfits, whatever you want to express yourself. Knee pads and heels are encouraged. Have fun with your look!

What should I wear to Girls Night Out?
Whatever makes you feel confident—shorts, leggings, bodysuits, themed outfits, or party attire are all welcome.

Do I have to wear heels?
No. Heels are never required unless specified. You’re welcome barefoot, in socks, or sneakers.

If I do wear heels, what kind should I bring?
Start with 6–7 inch pole heels (Pleasers or similar). Clean soles only—no street shoes on the poles.

What if I don’t want to show too much skin?
That’s completely okay. Shorts help with grip, but sticky leggings, grip aids, or more coverage is always fine. This is a judgment-free space.

What is pole grip and should I bring it?
Pole grip (also called pole tack) helps reduce slipping. It’s optional for beginners. We have some in the studio you can purchase. Avoid lotion or wearing jewelry the day of class.

How much weight do the poles hold?
Our professionally installed poles are rated to support well over 300 pounds and are designed for dynamic movement.

What if I’m not fit, flexible, or strong?
You don’t need to be. Pole builds strength and flexibility over time. Classes are designed for all bodies and fitness levels.

What should I expect in my first class?
A guided warm-up, clear instruction, encouragement, and zero pressure to perform. Breaks are always welcome.

Can I film or take photos?
Yes, as long as you’re respectful of others’ privacy. Some classes and parties are especially great for photos and videos.

Will you be filming the class or taking photos?
Yes, select classes may be filmed or photographed for studio content. If you prefer not to be on camera, just let your instructor know—there are poles positioned off camera so you can participate comfortably.

Can I turn this into a girls’ night out?
Absolutely. Many students head to Bar-Bill, Main & Hamlin, 42 North, East Aurora Brewery, or other bars nearby. Many are within walking distance. Overnight accommodations are also available within 2 blocks of the studio. Ask us about this when you book or call us to inquire.

Do you offer private parties?
Yes. We offer private, beginner-friendly parties perfect for celebrations, laughter, and memorable photos. Get your work friends together, bachelorette, reunion, birthday and more! Add ons to include more time, food and drinks, cake, and professional photography. Ask us about these when you book!

Do you offer memberships?
Yes. Memberships offer savings, priority booking, and studio privileges depending on the tier.

What if I have an injury or concern?

Please let your instructor know before class. Modifications are always available, but listen to your body.

Why pole?
